The day of departure draws ever closer. I shall be in Rome Oct 15th. For two days I shall smile and act as if nothing in the world makes me happier than listening to the unveiling of plaques. I shall do my best NOT to be jealous of the students at the ORT school just because they all exude a sort of easy elegance and style that I canapos;t pull off on my best day as an adult much less when I was in junior high on a school day. I shall attempt, while still in Rome, to find a wallet. I know that doesnapos;t sound like it should be a trauma or difficult. After all, wallets can be found anywhere, right? But I have these wallet issues you see. I canapos;t stand the long ones and I am so used to the configuration of the one I have. I have great hopes of Rome though. Home of the small leather good.
But then, I leave Rome on Saturday and I sail the Mediterranean for 12 days. Prep is underway and is informed by all I learned on the cruise earlier this year. Most importantly, I learned I overpacked. Second in importance was the fact that I should look into what to do in port BEFORE getting there. Sure, they give you information the night before but their information is based on which store paid them the most for the recommendation. From a "less shopping/more sightseeing" point of view, itapos;s useless. So,
- information on ports of call - gathered
- Forms assuring cruise line that I am who I say I am and furthermore am not ill - done
- clothes - semi-sorted and almost weeded out to a reasonable level for packing (tomorrow)
- hair cut - done
- last minute shopping for small stuff - done
- hair color touched up - done
- music - sorted
- reading material - acquired
- money - OMG, I was so excited about Coinstar today. All that change? $106.06. Sure, I needed to get a bit more but that was a lot more than I was expecting my coinage to be.
